Adam Segura 1988-2009
“Pursue Your Passion”
Only occasionally in your life, do you get to meet a person that has the talent, ambition and intelligence to make a real difference in the world. If you are extremely fortunate, you get to spend time with them and they touch your life. Adam Sequra was one such person and I am proud to have been able to call him a “good friend”.
Since his passing, there isn’t a day goes by that I don’t think about that fine young man and the potential he had to make the world a better place. Many times when I am out looking at my young goats, I will think, “I’ll bet Adam would love that one”, or “I wonder how Adam would breed that one”?
Adam loved the look of Lynn and Jim Farmer’s goats and that was our common interest when we first met at Joe Fuller’s ranch. Countless hours of conversation cemented that bond and my respect for Adam’s knowledge and excellent eye.
Adam’s favorite doe was FSE Passion and her daughter Plum and because of him I was fortunate to have been able to incorporate that blood into my own breeding program.
Everyone who knew Adam knows what I mean by him “touching our lives” – he was special and we want to remember that unique person as long as we can. To that end, a scholarship fund in his name has been established as part of the Junior ABGA as a means for Adam to continue to touch future lives of young goat enthusiasts.
My small contribution to his memory is a donation of Lot 1. 100% of the sale will go to Adam’s scholarship fund. It is appropriate that Lot 1 is a grand daughter of FSE Plum and great granddaughter of FSE Passion and by SWE Main Event, another goat Adam loved. I believe that Adam would have been proud to own this young doe. Her name is 2DOX Adam’s Passion.
I would encourage each of you to contribute to the memory of Adam through this scholarship fund. What better way can we say thank you Adam, for touching our lives.
